Cas Carter

An experienced corporate communications, public relations and marketing specialist who has been operating as an independent consultant assisting clients in local government, iwi, hospitality, tourism and the sciences. She holds a number of board positions, writes a weekly column on marketing, communications and public relations for Fairfax and is a panelist on Radio New Zealand’s, The Panel. 

Previous roles include leading the strategy and operations of a tertiary institutions’s external relations department including marketing, communication, events, stakeholder management, student recruitment, fund raising and alumni management. Prior to education, she held a number of roles in the New Zealand tourism industry including at Tourism New Zealand and Tourism Wellington, for the Minister of Tourism and managed tourism accounts for a public relations company.  

She has experience overseeing and managing international events as well as media and stakeholder relationship management both nationally and globally particularly in Australia, Japan, the US and the UK. Offers a pragmatic but strategic approach to business issues and believe the power of getting the right people together is limitless.

Rachael Shadbolt

A tourism, hospitality and events professional Rachael has over 20 years experience working both on the front line and more recently in the communications, external and government relations space.

Rachael brings a pragmatic view of how it works in the real world and what it takes to get stuff done. She also has a good understanding of central and local government process and politics. An interesting set of skills that has served Rachael well in forging great working relationships across many sectors and stakeholders.
